SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Area music students got a first-hand look behind the scenes of a Savannah Philharmonic rehearsal.
About 600 students have been learning about the music the orchestra is playing in their upcoming Season Finale show and they got to hear the musicians play the pieces on Friday.
The executive director of the Savannah Philharmonic explained the orchestra conductor even wore a microphone so that they could hear him encourage his musicians during the rehearsal.
"This is an opportunity for kids to hear excellent live music in a way that is unique. They are well prepared for it, they are able to really enjoy because they've got a lot of great information," said Savannah Philharmonic Executive Director Mitchell Krieger.
The Savannah Philharmonic was rehearsing for the Season Finale Show which will be held Saturday at the Johnny Mercer Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
