FORT STEWART (WTOC) - Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield and the 3rd Infantry Division hosted its annual volunteer awards ceremony Friday night.
Forty installation volunteers were honored for their service.
Garrison Commander, Colonel Townley Hedrick calls it "an Army within the Army."
"It's over 46,000 hours. Over a million dollars in would be labor costs with people that we don't have on the books, so this is volunteers making the post great," said Col. Hedrick.
"We represent the organization of the Army. I think we represent the families; the mothers, daughters, the fathers, brothers, the ones that are the silent ranks that stand behind our soldiers when they leave," said Marne Spirit Award Recipient, Aimee Manning.
Congratulations to all of Friday's award recipients and thank you for all that you do!
