SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Consolidation Implementation Committee meeting was held Wednesday at Armstrong State University.
It was in the beginning of this year the University System of Georgia decided to merge Georgia Southern with Armstrong State. Since then, this committee has been working on making that merger happen.
There's been a lot of rumors recently about "good faculty" leaving. Armstrong's new provost wanted to set the record straight.
"I guard you against this characterization that good people are leaving because we have a lot of good people who are here, who are very committed to the institution, who are very committed to Savannah and who have other reasons why they may not go," said Armstrong Interim Provost Christopher Curtis.
Some recommendations discussed Wednesday include selecting a unified mass communication system and revamping the website.
The next CIC meeting is July 12 at Georgia Southern.
