Don Logana recognized with award from Safe Kids Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Don Logana was recognized Thursday night by Safe Kids Savannah, an organization he absolutely cherished.

Led by the Children's Hospital at Memorial, the mission of Safe Kids is to prevent accidental injury and death. Thursday's mission was to say "thank you" to community members who help them achieve that goal.

"The award that Don is receiving is the award for outstanding media partnership. Throughout Don's career, while I didn't get to work with him personally, it's very evident of how he always promoted Safe Kids. He was always willing to come out and cover our events. He was always willing to promote our events. You know his following on social media was huge and still is. And so, we just wanted to say thank you and give this in honor of him and his memory," said Safe Kids Program Coordinator Keliesha Jones.

Marla Rooker and Jarvis Robertson were there Thursday night to accept the award on Don's behalf.
