RICHMOND HILL, GA (WTOC) -

Lots of Fourth of July festivities are set for this weekend, including the Red, White and Blue celebration in Richmond Hill.

The free, family-friendly event will include live music, lots of food, arts and crafts, and activities for the kids. If you are headed out to J.F. Gregory Park, you are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to watch the live entertainment and fireworks.

Coolers will be allowed, but no pets or alcoholic beverages.

Richmond Hill Councilman Russ Carpenter says it an event he's been coming to for as long as he can remember.

"Most of them, even before I was running for mayor or in the office, I was at all of these events anyway. It's part of Richmond Hill, it's a part of what you do in a little small town. Richmond Hill is unique in that we have a small town, but we can afford to do big things like this,” said Carpenter.

The festivities at J.F. Gregory Park begin at 5 p.m. and the fireworks will go off at 9 p.m.
