TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Tybee Island's newest business.
The mayor and city council all headed out to "The Deck" on Butler Avenue for the ceremony.
Now, it's been open since late May, so plenty of people have already tried the food and drinks and checked out the amazing view.
It's owned by the same great people at Collins Quarter. Turns out, they weren't planning on a second restaurant.
"I walked into the spot and when I walked in here, I was like, 'Hang on, I'm in the restaurant industry. I didn't know about this space. We should be able to do something.' So, we basically did the deal right here at that time. And it was still boarded up from the hurricane," said Anthony Debreceny, owner of "The Deck".
We're told business has been great so far, especially on weekends.
The Deck is open from noon to 9 p.m. most days. It is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
