CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

United States Coast Guard Master Chief Petty Officer Clay Hill retiring after three decades in the service.

An Ancient Albatross ceremony was held as he hands over the title to Master Chief Petty Officer Kit Harris.

Hill is an aviation survival technician and served five years in Savannah.

"This has been a blessing to serve our country in the Coast Guard. Going out and saving lives and flying. It's a little bittersweet, but I'm ready. It's time. 34-years, this is a young person's game, jumping out of helicopters. It is time,” Hill said.

Master Chief Hill is originally from Bacon County. Presiding over Friday's ceremony was the Commandant of the Coast Guard.
