Dom DeMasi has come a long way since his days starring for Calvary Day.
On the same day he was promoted to Class AA, DeMasi made a great first impression in his debut with the Akron RubberDucks.
The former Valdosta State star picked up the win in the second game of a doubleheader, allowing just one run and two hits in five strong innings. DeMasi struck out six and only walked one.
DeMasi has been pitching well in 2017. For High-A Lynchburg, the righty is 2-3 with a 3.27 ERA in 23 appearances. He has 38 strikeouts in 52.1 innings.
The former Cavalier standout is one of two people to win two consecutive Dearing Awards when he took home the honor in 2010 and 2011.
