One man is recovering after a late-night shooting, and the suspected gunman is in custody. Savannah-Chatham police were called to a house in the 900 block of Rockefeller Street just before 11pm last night. They found a man there suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He told officers he knew the man who shot him and said he was driving a gray Honda.
Ambulance crews rushed the victim to Memorial Health for treatment and dispatchers broadcast a lookout on the car and suspect.
Seconds later, an officer spotted the car as it was approaching the Talmadge Bridge. He radioed ahead and had other officers block off the South Carolina side. The gunman and two other men in the car stopped on the bridge when they saw all the blue lights and the gunman quickly surrendered.
Police recovered the gun believed used in the shooting.
The names of the victim and suspect have not yet been released.
