The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, along with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Beaufort County Animal Services, concluded their search warrant at Roy's Aquarium in Beaufort.
We first broke this story last Tuesday when the investigation first began. Over the last four days of their investigation hundreds of animals were safely removed from the business to a temporary facility in order for veterinarians to provide needed care and treatment.
Evidence officials collected from the store is still being evaluated, as are any criminal charges for those who are responsible for the apparent neglect of the animals. At this time no one has been charged.
Officials will release more information as it becomes available.
