A local jewelry store doing their part to help a neighbor in need.
Sunday, Harkleroad Jewelers held a fundraiser to help support Tart Johnson. He is the life partner of Scott Waldrup - the man killed on July 4th during the city market shooting and crash.
50 percent of all sales made and donations collected will be given to Johnson to help pay for funeral costs. It will also help any other unforeseen expenses from his partner's death.
"Whatever we can do to help him, that's all we're trying to do to try and give him a little assistance and let him know that we're, you know, his neighbors and fellow Savannahians and we're here to help," said Caleb Harkleroad, Vice President of Harkleroad Jewelers.
This is not the first time the business owners have stepped up to help. Most recently they raised $1,000 to give to the families on Tybee who lost their home to a fire.
