BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

More than 100 incoming Georgia Southern students will be on campus for the next several weeks learning how to lead and help in the community.

One team of students from Project Build went to Banks Creek Cemetery on Tuesday - Bulloch County's oldest African American cemetery - and helped clean. Project Build includes workshops for students to learn ways they can volunteer on campus and learn about non-profit projects in the community - outside of campus as well.

"The point I make to them is they're investing four years of their life into this community, and they truly begin to own that message," said Dr. Todd Deal, GSU Professor.

Other teams have volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and other projects. This marks the eleventh summer for the project.
