Ten months after Hurricane Matthew, this group of volunteers hopes to be more prepared for disaster than they've been in the past.
Bulloch County's VOAD - Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters - gathered to update plans how their groups can help victims of a hurricane or other disasters.
They team up to help fill gaps government agencies can't cover. This could include giving out food supplies or hot meals to those without power or setting up emergency shelters in churches or other places.
Organizers say Matthew taught everyone lessons on ways to improve response.
The team says they're more prepared this year than their individual groups were last year.
It's a plan they hope they never need.
