The Chicago Cubs confirm to WTOC that legendary Georgia head football coach, Vince Dooley will be on hand to throw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field later this fall.
Dooley will throw the honorary pitch on Sept. 8 when the Cubs host the Milwaukee Brewers. That game is one day before the Bulldogs take on Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, which is approximately 100 miles from Chicago.
Dooley was the Dawgs head coach for 25 seasons and won 201 games in his tenure in Athens. He led Georgia to the 1980 national championship and six SEC Championships.
