Savannah Popeye's Robbed

Police could use your help in finding a group of men who robbed a fast food restaurant overnight. About 12:15am this morning, workers at the Popeye's restaurant at Bull and 42nd Street in Savannah were taking out the trash when they tell police three men with T-shirts over their faces came out of some bushes and ambushed them.

Two of them had guns and forced the employees back inside the store. While one of the gunmen watched the employees, another put a gun to the manager's head and ordered her to hand over the money in the safe.

Investigators believe the men got away with the money in two cars they had parked at a convenience street at Abercorn and Victory. Police are looking for a black Lincoln and a gray Monte Carlo seen speeding away from there right after the robbery.

Two of the workers were shaken up by the ordeal and were checked at the scene by EMTs.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 234.2020.
