BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

A huge donation from Palmetto Electric Cooperative to Technical College of the Lowcountry's Criminal Justice Program.

$43,000 going towards a virtual weapons training system to help future police officers.

"This is going to take them and make them a little more marketable before they go to the hiring board for each one of the agencies. But then, when they get into the agencies, they have an idea already what law enforcement is like, they have an idea what it's about and they have an idea what the training's going to be like when they get to the academy,” said Michael Ricks, a criminal justice instructor at TCL.

This program will also allow local law enforcement agencies continue education and training.
