BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

Since 4:30 Thursday morning, the Bluffton Police Department has responded to nine calls for service involving items stolen out of unlocked vehicles in the Farm Subdivision.

Police say the items taken vary from cash, credit cards, sunglasses, and a jacket. Some owners didn't have any items stolen, but the items left in the vehicle were disheveled.

'Please everyone, lock your vehicles. I know sometimes we forget or are busy, but it is so important to lock your vehicle as soon as you get out of the car, and before you enter your own home,' Bluffton Police Chief Joe Manning said, in a release.

If you have any information on the identity of the person responsible for these thefts, you are urged to call the Bluffton PD at 843.706.4550.
