SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

It's that time, the beginning of the school year is right around the corner. That means it's time to buy supplies and clothes and prepare for another year.

Two mothers in a Savannah neighborhood are stepping up to help out.  The Bradley Point South subdivision held their second annual "Stuff the Bag" school supply drive Saturday morning.

In addition to free school supplies and uniforms there were also activities to keep the young students entertained. The event welcomed a huge crowd this year.

"I have four children, so I know that sometimes it's very hard for a parent to have to supply uniforms for more than one child, even sometimes it's hard for one," said Pamela Balmer-Murphey, Co-Organizer. "Single mothers have a hard time so we want to try to ease the burden."

Also on hand - Metro police officers and Savannah fire fighters. Children got an opportunity to get hands on with men and women who protect our city.
