Change of Command at Marine Corps Air Station

The headquarters and headquarters squadron at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort have a new leader. Today, Lt. Col. Jeffrey Arnold handed over command to Lt. Col. James Horton. Lt. Col. Arnold was also honored today with a Meritorious Service Award.

He served as the Swamp Foxes' commander for the past two years and says the diligence and bravery of Marines made his job truly meaningful.

"For two years, you get the privilege of being called their commanding officer and they want to trust you and you want to earn that trust, so I've had a tremendous time sharing in their lives," he said.

Lt. Col. Arnold will be staying in the Low Country and serving as the MAG-31 executive officer at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.
