SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Rotary Club of Savannah had a very special guest speaker for their weekly meeting this Monday.

Legendary former University of Georgia coach Vince Dooley spoke to club members at the The DeSoto. He also spoke with WTOC about a special honor he will have on Sept. 8: throwing out the first pitch at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

"Of all things, I'm going to throw out the first pitch at the Cubs game the day before we play Notre Dame up in Chicago, so there's a lot of excitement by the Bulldogs. I hope I can get it to the plate," he said.

Dooley also talked about his expectations for the team this season.

"Well, they're picked to win the East, which is good. It's also bad because you need to win the East if you're picked, so it's all about expectations, but on paper, we sure look good."

The coach who led the Dawgs to the National Championship in the 1980 season will be cheered on by around 2,000 Georgia fans.
