Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating a shooting that was reported to have taken place near the intersection of East 37th and Paulsen streets, Tuesday afternoon.
Police say 21-year-old Khalid Felder arrived at the hospital by private vehicle around 12:40 p.m. with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives say Felder was uncooperative with them and initially gave them a false name. It was determined he had six outstanding warrants through SCMPD and one for violating his probation. He was arrested for these warrants and taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Investigators do not believe it was random.
Felder was arrested last year in connected to a car theft and was charged with theft by receiving stolen property. He was also arrested back in 2010, at 15-years-old, in connection with a car chase, police pursuit, and burglary.
