BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

A television icon of the 70's and 80's will visit Statesboro to help hundreds of children.

Erik Estrada, star of the hit show “CHiPs”, will serve as keynote speaker for the Boys and Girls Club of Bulloch County's annual gala supper.

The club's executive director told WTOC they're grateful to speakers like Estrada but also supporters who've made the gala a big hit for the past 12 years.

“Each year we've had great success with the people we bring in as the keynote speaker and it just seems to get better and better,” Executive Director Mike Jones said.

The Kids and Community Gala is Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the Nessmith Lane Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
