CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham students will head back to the classroom on Thursday, and we've got everything you need to know as you prepare your children for another school year.

We headed out to Gould Elementary's open house Wednesday afternoon, where teachers and staff were focusing on getting parents involved in their child's education.

Children and their parents walked through the halls, getting acquainted with teachers and getting questions answered and concerns addressed. If you have a child riding the bus on Thursday, Savannah-Chatham Schools would like for you to be patient as they work out any initial issues that may come up. Also, remember the bus routes are now all online if you need to double check to see where your child needs to be.

We spoke with Gould's principal, who says open house was full of hugs, and he's looking forward to a very promising year.

"This is basically our meet and greet. They are going to get some great information to start the school year. We have some great things in store this year with the Bounce Literally Program and Eureka Math, that we are really excited about," said Principal Jim Roszkowiak.

Lots of other open houses were also held all over Chatham County on Wednesday.

Please be sure to remain vigilant and slow down in school zones.
