A Chatham County man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car on Sunday night around 9:15. Police say the man was riding his bicycle on Chevis Road when he was struck by a Jeep.
Officers believe the driver never saw the cyclist. He had no reflectors on his bicycle and was wearing dark clothing. Witnesses say the driver wasn't speeding; however, the speed limit on that section of Chevis Road is 40 miles an hour.
Police haven't released the victim's name. There was no word on his condition late Sunday night. Savannah Chatham Police are investigating.
