SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team, with assistance from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s SWAT Team, conducted a buy/bust operation at 5 Seneca Road on Wednesday around 5 p.m.

This operation comes after an ongoing narcotics investigation.

CNT assests were used to purchase cocaine from Julian “Juju” Jackson, over the course of a month, at that location. After multiple purchases from Jackson, agents began to formulate a plan to arrest Jackson and his suppliers.

SCMPD SWAT was requested to help with a “vehicle takedown” on Jackson and his distributors. SWAT was able to conduct this and make contact with the suspects as they were conducting a drug deal in a parked vehicle outside of the Seneca Road residence.

When SWAT made contact with the vehicles, Jackson and two other individuals exited the car and attempted to flee on foot. The driver of the vehicle, Warren Roundtree, exited the vehicle with a firearm.

Roundtree was subdued and arrested. Jackson and a third suspect, Javonte Wright, were arrested after a brief foot chase.

All three suspects were taken to the hospital for treatment, were medically cleared, and later taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.

CNT Agents seized a trafficking amount of cocaine from the suspect’s vehicle. A search warrant was executed on the Seneca Road residence where officials found more cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana and codeine. The firearm that Roundtree had in his possession was found to be stolen.

Julian Jackson was charged with trafficking of cocaine, sale of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction by resisting.

Warren Roundtree was charged with trafficking of cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Javonte Wright was charged with trafficking of cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction by fleeing.

Additional charges are pending on all three suspects.
