Beach high graduates got together Saturday to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Savannah high school.

For those not great at math the school dates all the way back to 1867. The day of fun included a graduate from as far back as 1938. There were also current students at the event.

A parade from Beach High School down 52nd street to Montgomery Street kicked off the day. A cookout and plenty of fun-filled activities followed at the fairgrounds.

"It's very important for us to have this event because we just have to remember that in this community, the schools are where our children spend most of the day," said Mary Merritt, Beach High Alumni Association President. "It's important that they see that the alumni unit is strong and that we believe in them and are here for them."

Superintendent Dr. Ann Levett served as the Grand Marshall for the parade. All of the proceeds from admission goes back to the students.
