SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

As the temperatures rise, some may be looking for a place to cool down. That's why the Southside Assembly of God and Kingdom Life Fellowship are joining together to bring some heat relief to the southside of Savannah.

"What we're trying to do is be a blessing to our community, especially in these hot days of August for people" says Pastor Jack Moon of the Southside Assembly of God, "particulary those who don't have air conditioning can have a cool place to come in the heat of the day, provide them with some cooling, some resources."

Beginning Monday, Aug. 7, and going through the month of August, these churches will provide a place for people to cool down during the day.

The cooling centers will be offered during the following days and times throughout August:

  • Southside Assembly of God (401 Tibet Ave.) – Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 912.925.9344 for more.
  • Kingdom Life Fellowship (425 W Montgomery Cross Rd.) – Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 912.921.5346 for more.
