Hampton County School District One will be closed for students and staff on Monday, Aug. 21.
Hampton County School District Two will be closed on Monday, Aug. 21.
Jasper County Schools will be closed on Monday, Aug. 21.
Benedictine will release early on Monday, Aug. 21. The school will dismiss at 12:33 p.m.
Bethesda Academy will be closed on Monday, Aug. 21.
Bryan County Schools will delay dismissal for elementary, middle and high schools on Monday, Aug. 21 by 30 minutes. All schools will follow normally scheduled start times on Aug. 21. Each school will provide parents with additional details next week regarding the planned activities for that day.
Bulloch County Schools will be open Monday, Aug. 21 but will be delaying dismissal at all schools due to the Total Solar Eclipse. In a release, the school system said it will excuse absences and early dismissals, with a parent note, for families who wish to view the eclipse as a family.
Calvary Day will have a half day on Monday, Aug. 21 due to the solar eclipse. Students will be dismissed at noon. For families who would like to experience the eclipse together as a Calvary family, the school says they will also offer an Eclipse Party in the afternoon on campus. Calvary has purchased glasses for each student to either take home to enjoy the eclipse, or to remain with your family on campus for the Eclipse Party. For students to remain on campus for the Eclipse Party, parents must also be in attendance.
Effingham County Schools are closed on Monday, Aug. 21. The district says the day will be considered an "inclement weather day" and will not have to be made up.
Emanuel County Schools are closed on Monday, Aug. 21 to all students and staff.
Liberty County Schools are closed on Monday, Aug. 21. The district says the day will be considered an "inclement weather day" and will not have to be made up.
Long County Schools have canceled classes on Monday, Aug. 21 due to the Total Solar Eclipse. Currently, Jan. 3 is a teacher in-service day and student holiday. The teacher in-service day will be moved to Aug. 21 and students will return to school on Jan. 3 instead of Jan 4. Aug. 21 is now a student holiday.
Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, Aug. 21 due to the Total Solar Eclipse. The day will be considered an “inclement weather day” and there will be no school for students. A make-up day will not be required. All staff will be required to report to work as normal.
St. Vincent’s Academy will dismiss early at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21.
Tattnall County Schools will delay dismissal of Glennville Elementary and Reidsville Elementary until 2:45 p.m. This 15-minute delay will also impact Glennville Middle School, who will release at 3:15 p.m. and Reidsville Middle School, who will release at 3:25 p.m. Collins Elementary/Middle School and Tattnall County High School will release at the normal time of 3:10 p.m.
