SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on Abercorn Street.
At about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the bank after it was reported a suspect entered the store and pointed a gun at the tellers. The suspect demanded money, the tellers complied and he then left the scene on foot toward Magnolia Street.
The suspect is described as a black male with a slim build. During the incident, he wore a black shirt wrapped around his face, a brown hat, a blue jacket and light blue latex gloves. He also carried a black trash bag in his hand.
Wells Fargo management is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
