All eight Savannah-Chatham County Public School teams took a break from their preseason preparations to speak at Media Day on Wednesday afternoon.
A big topic everyone wanted to discuss: the rise of Region 3-AAA
After Jenkins and Savannah High both advanced to the second round of the state playoffs a season ago, all the teams in this region are looking to step up their game.
That, they say, is having an effect all over the county.
"In our buildings and in our kids, football is starting to matter," said Savannah High head coach David Roberson.
"You have a bunch of football teams in this region that are all fighting for the same four playoff spots," said Islands head coach Robert Zoller. "We're in each other's backyards and in the community, so it's a dogfight."
It's hard to believe the high school football season is right around the corner, and you'll see all these teams and so many more when the End Zone fires up on August 25.
