The Petitt Cup isn't going anywhere just yet.
The Savannah Bananas are back in the CPL Western Conference championship, another step closer to defending their title.
The good folks at Grayson Stadium can't take a vacation yet as the Bananas will need the field at least one more time this week.
For now, Savannah will be on the road Thursday for Game 1 of the championship series against the Gastonia Grizzlies.
The team says, just like they have been all season, they're staying loose.
"We're just having fun, trying not to feel like it's a playoff run," says outfielder Terrence Pinkston. "We're just taking every game going one by one, and going out trying to get a win everyday."
"You always want to be playing good at the end of the season, going into the postseason," says Bananas manager Sean West. "I feel like our guys are playing well and having fun."
Game 1 of the best-of-three series is Thursday night in Gastonia. Game 2 is Friday in Savannah, with Game 3 on Saturday at Grayson Stadium if necessary.
