STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Across the Georgia Southern University campus at the residence halls, most of the almost-5,000 students who'll live on campus will return this weekend as part of Operation Move-In.
Friday, student volunteers staffed the parking lots to help students and families get acclimated and help with the heavy lifting. The volunteers include a host of student organizations including the Eagle football team.
"At first, they have that awkward look on their face because they don't know what we're going to do. When they know we're here to help them, they have a glad expression then," said Jacorey Belvin.
Most of the other 15,000 students moved to their off-campus apartments earlier this month.
GSU begins classes on Monday.
