Yemassee Police Department respond to severe 2-vehicle wreck

YEMASSEE, SC (WTOC) -

The Yemassee Police Department were dispatched to a two-vehicle wreck a little after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday at the 39 northbound mile marker on I-95.

It was a reported two-car rollover. Upon arrival, they found one car on its roof and the other with severe damage. 

The car on its roof had five occupants in it while the second only had one. All 6 were able were able to self-extricate, but all had to be transported to the hospital.

Yemassee Police was assisted by Hampton County EMS, Colleton County EMS, and Hampton County Fire/Rescue.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
