Former Hardeeville volunteer fire chief laid to rest

HARDEEVILLE, SC (WTOC) -

Family and friends gathered Sunday to lay a Hardeeville murder victim and former volunteer fire chief to rest.

Ernest Martin Stevens died Thursday after being shot to death on Ulman Street in Hardeeville. According to his obituary, Stevens was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and Deacon of the Hardeeville First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, two children, and three grandchildren. 

Police have charged Devon Dunham with murder. They have not said what led up to the shooting.
