Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police have released the name of a young motorcycle driver that was killed yesterday in the Pinpoint community.
Police say 18-year old Charles Jack Hobby III, of Montclair Avenue, was speeding when he took a corner too fast and ended up slamming his motorcycle into the Eden Baptist Church along Lehigh Avenue.
Neighbors say that this is a very bad area for speeding vehicles. According to Theresa Kirkland, "they decide they want to haul -- they want to run up and down this road and they take this road really fast."
Police also say that even Hobby's helmet couldn't save him from the impact that took his life. He would have turned 19 next week.
