Sister of Baxley shooting victim speaking out

BAXLEY, GA (WTOC) - A deadly triple shooting is under investigation in Appling County.

Authorities say they were called to the Clay Homes apartments in Baxley around 11 p.m. on Sunday. They say it all stemmed from a fight - the gunman went inside the apartment to confront the tenant. When they arrived, officers found two people suffering gunshot wounds. When they arrived at the Emergency Room to follow up on the incident, they discovered another person was there being treated for injuries.

The other two people shot, a man and a woman, are expected to recover. The third victim, 54-year-old Freddie Joe King, died. His sister is speaking out.

"It was wrong...wrong. He was killed for no reason. I want justice for that. I want justice for my brother. My brother has gone home. He was my best friend," Magre King said. "Never been any killing in this neighborhood. Never. Never been any killing, but it had to be my brother, and it's wrong. It's wrong. That is so wrong."

The suspect, 52-year-old Rodney Mobley, was taken into custody and charged with murder.
