Solar eclipse glasses in short supply in Savannah

We're less than a week away from the Great American Eclipse. If you still need to prepare, you're running out of time.

Eye doctors are stressing you wear the right kind of light-blocking glasses on Monday, but if you don't have them yet, you may not get them.

Kids learning about the eclipse at the library will walk away with a pair of glasses to protect their eyes on Monday, but if you're trying to buy a pair, you may be out of luck.

Retailers across the country are sold out of the light-blocking glasses, and many stores aren't getting another shipment before Monday.

The American Astronomical Society has a list of stores selling safe glasses and a note that "it may be too late to buy solar viewers in time for August 21st."

And they're not kidding.

“It’s been very rough. My husband has been looking. He actually talked to my cousin-in-law, and she lives in Atlanta. All the way up there, they’re all sold out. Everywhere is sold out,” said Ruth Cavendish, a parent.
