SCHP investigate after two-car wreck shut down I-95 in Jasper County

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-car wreck that shut down a portion of I-95 near mile marker two in Jasper County early on Saturday morning. 

According to LCpl Matthew Southern, a Toyota Avalon was traveling southbound in the right-hand lane shortly after7:00 a.m. when it was struck head-on by a Ford Focus that was driving northbound in the southbound lane. 

The driver of the Toyota Avalon did sustain injuries and was transported to Memorial Health to receive treatment. The driver and passenger of the Ford Focus were fatally injured. All parties involved were wearing seatbelts.

This wreck did close down I-95 from the time it occurred until 9:45 a.m.
