The Garden City Police Department is investigating their second homicide in as many days. Officers found 41-year-old Eliud Montoya shot to death on Dean Forest Road near the Pilot Travel Center.

The Chatham County Coroner says the shooting happened on foot and was not a drive by. Montoya had three gunshot wounds in the back.

They say the cause may have been a "workplace related" shooting. They believe it to be a conflict between coworkers.

They have a few persons of interest at this time. The shooting happened near a heavily populated trailer park, so police are asking anyone who may have seen something to please come forward.

Police are still on scene investigating. Garden City Fire also responded to the call.

At this time, police believe this is not related to another homicide that took place in Garden City on Friday night.

This shooting and Friday night's shooting are the first two shooting death of this year, according to the Chief.

Montoya's body is being sent off for an autopsy.
