LONG CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Long County Library was out of this world busy Saturday morning!

The library staff went all out for the Pre-Solar Eclipse party. The line to get into the library was out the door long before the event started at 11 Saturday morning.

The snacks were moon pies and milky ways, with solar system decor all through out the library.  Our very own Jamie Ertle read to the children and students.

There was a raffle with Astronomy inspired books for prizes. 150 children and parents went home with the oh-so-coveted free solar eclipse glasses!

"I'm glad the kids came so they'll be more educated and not so apprehensive because it's a natural occurrence," said Cathy Jackson, Assistant Manager, Long County Library.

After reading, kids and adults toured the WTOC Lasky Cooper Storm Chaser and tried out their glasses.
