SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

If you are a parent, you've probably struggled with this question - What age is the right age to get your child a smartphone?

The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least 8th grade. Organizers say by banding together, this will decrease the pressure felt by kids and parents alike over the kids having a smartphone.

Not all parents think this kind of pledge is necessary. However, some experts say giving a child a smartphone is like giving them a car before they are ready.
