When we went looking for this week's Top Teen, we found a young man who loves working with kids. Probably because he's a kid at heart.
At 6' 4" and 260 pounds, Grant Rozkiak is a big guy.
"I'm a gentle giant," he says.
Gentle he is. Grant is spending his summer as a camp counselor at the YMCA. "It's really fun, cause I get to play with kids all day."
Among other things, he teaches the campers archery.
But this summer, he had to take a break. Grant went to Haiti with his church, Savannah Christian. It was an experience that changed his life.
"It really helped me to appreciate America a lot more," he told us. "It was a hard experience, just seeing all the poverty over there and the kids without clothes, but it was a good one."
Just like he does here at home, Grant spent a lot of time with the kids in Haiti. "We told them stories and taught them the bible. And we played basketball with them and just loved on them. Because you know, they have no parents."
He plans to go back, but before he does, Grant will complete the summer camp with the kids at the YMCA. And that's why he's this week's WTOC Top Teen.
Grant is headed to Wheaton College just outside Chicago, and has already earned a place on their football team as a defensive tackle. He says once he graduates, he wants to be a missionary.
