Twenty-two Trees Added to Warriors Walk

Twenty-two trees were planted at Fort Stewart today, each in honor of a soldier who died in the fight against terrorism. It's the most trees ever planted at one time along the Warriors Walk. Families from all over the country gathered to remember and honor their loved ones, and to comfort others.

Fort Stewart officials say they plant these trees because they represent life and remain living symbols of the sacrifices these men and women have made.

"It's wonderful," said Vicki Riggs of Houston, Texas. "This is a real special place to us now, and coming back here was hard, but it was a beautiful ceremony and it was honoring the soldiers today."

Fort Stewart encourages anyone to come and remember the soldiers. Warriors Walk is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
