The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department worked with the United States Marshals Service to arrest a 17-year-old male who was wanted for murder on Thursday afternoon at Edgewater Trace Apartments.
SCMPD's SWAT team arrived to the scene around 4 p.m. and were able to later take him into custody without incident.
Tanaiveon Johnson was wanted for felony murder in connection with the Sept. 13 death of 18-year-old Arraffi Williams.
Officers responded to the scene in the area of East 31st Street and Bee Road around noon on Sept. 13. Officers found Williams suffering from life-threatening injuries and he later died at the scene.
It was later determined that Williams and Johnson were both in the area at the time of the shooting. They were involved in an exchange of gunfire with another group in the area. Officials say at least one party from each group fired shots.
Johnson's actions were determined to have led to Williams' death and has since been charged with one count of felony murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
