The temperatures aren't the only things soaring these days. So could your electric bill, if you don't run your air conditioning properly. If your bill is rising into the triple digits like the heat index, Savannah Electric suggest you do a little upkeep.

Be sure to change your air filters, check the weather stripping in your doorways and windows, and keep your air conditioner set in the high '70s.

"Simple things like if you have a ceiling fan, oscillating fan use those," said Savannah Electric spokesman John Kraft. "Those can supplement your air conditioning by helping you to feel cool with a higher setting."
