Drop Off "Thinking of You" Cards for Troops

So many of our local troops are serving in the Middle East and putting their lives on the line, and many of them are coming home wounded. But thanks to a Beaufort city councilwoman, they'll have a warm welcome when they get here.

Councilwoman Donnie Beer collected more than 200 "thinking of you cards" throughout the area for wounded troops. Today, the Beaufort UPS Store shipped the first batch to the USO in North Carolina. They'll be delivered to wounded troops at Camp Lejeune.

"They've sacrificed more than we'll ever know," Beer said. "Their young lives are changed forever and I hope this will let them know, somebody, somewhere is thinking about them even if we don't know them."

If you'd like to participate, all you have to do is sign a card and put it in an envelope. But don't seal the the envelope.
