One former military man is peddling his way around the country to help our troops. Retired Air Force master sergeant Steven Hughes started riding his bike from his home in Maine and plans on peddling all the way to Florida. The cause is the Homes for Our Troops organization. The group raises money to build houses for soldiers who may be handicapped after serving in a war.

Hughes is stopping at several military bases along the way to raise awareness. "I've spent 28 years in the Air Force and I've seen the things military families go through," he told us as he swung through Fort Stewart. "It just seemed right to me."

Hughes has already raised $2,000. His next stop is MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
