Three Georgia National Guardsmen Killed in Iraq

Three more soldiers from a Georgia National Guard unit have been killed, bringing the total to 11 from that unit in less than two weeks. Military officials say the three, who were members of the Guard's 48th Brigade, were killed yesterday in a car bomb attack. Another was wounded.

Hundreds of mourners turned out yesterday in Lincolnton, Georgia, for the funeral of a member of the 48th Brigade killed on July 24. Sgt. James Kinlow was one of four members of the unit who died when a roadside bomb blew up as their Humvee passed.

Four more soldiers from the same unit were killed the same way the next Saturday.

Kinlow was buried at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens in Thomson, Georgia, where he lived before being deployed to Iraq with the 48th Brigade.
