SOUTH CAROLINA (WTOC) - The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has reported the first flu death of the season.

The name of the person has not yet been released, nor has where they live. Medical experts say young children, pregnant women, and people 65 years and older are at higher risk of serious flu complications.
