Ronald McDonald House holds Community Impact Awards

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Tuesday was a night of honoring volunteers, employees, and businesses who help sustain a home away from home for critically-ill or injured children and their families.

The Ronald McDonald House held the Community Impact Awards. Jim 'N Nicks of Bluffton presented a check for $8,100 and provided their stew and cheese biscuits. Over 100 guests attended and half of them were honored for their dedication to helping the Ronald McDonald House.

This year, a new award was presented - Employee of the Year.

"I'm not often shocked, and tonight I was because I had no idea this was coming and I thought he was talking about someone else. I wasn't even paying attention. All of a sudden, I get told to go up there, and there I was. I'm just honored to be a part of the organization and for them to recognize me for doing my job. It's just too much and unreal," said Brian DePriest, RMH Employee of the Year.

WTOC is a proud sponsor of Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire. Our Jamie Ertle was there to receive the media partnership award. Be on the lookout for upcoming events at the Ronald McDonald House, including Wine and Fries and Wine, Women, and Shoes.
